ABSTRACT:
The study mainly concentrates on the preparation with assesment of plant-based gel comprising Tinospora cordifolia with significant anti-inflammatory activity. The main goal was to formulate a stable with effective use as topical gel, using plant-based active ingredient with minimal side effects compared to synthetic formulations. Gulvel, chosen for its therapeutic and anti-inflammatory benefits. The herbal gel was created with gelling agent as Carbopol 934, propylene glycol serving as a humectant, suitable preservatives, and triethanolamine acting as the neutralizing agent. The extract of Tinospora cordifolia was mixed into the gel base continuously to achieve a homogenous preparation. The formulated gel was assessed for different physicochemical characteristics including pH, viscosity, spreadability, and stability to confirm its suitability for topical application. Furthermore, the inflammation reducing effects of the formulation were assessed using protein denaturation assay which shows the reduction of protein denaturation as an indicator of inflammation reducer. Demonstrated outcomes of the formulated herbal gel exhibited acceptable physicochemical properties and good stability. The protein denaturation assay suggested significant anti-inflammatory activity, supporting the therapeutic potential of the formulation. In conclusion, the developed Tinospora cordifolia herbal gel can be considered a promising alternative for topical anti-inflammatory treatment, offering effectiveness with reduced risk of adverse effects.
